Over 75 days and 21,000 kilometres, we travelled from the Pacific to the Atlantic and back—crossing landscapes, provinces, and communities, and meeting people whose stories quietly reshape how a country can be understood. What emerged is not a single narrative, but a living mosaic of voices, places, and experiences.

In each talk, we revisit these encounters through reflections and images, alongside a photographic exhibition featuring a selection of eight of Stefano’s images—fragments of landscapes, moments, and human connections.

Stefano Gulmanelli is an Italian-Canadian photographer and researcher based in Vancouver. His work explores the human condition and the human presence embedded within landscape and place. Holding a PhD in sociology and having taught at the University of British Columbia, he moves between visual and narrative forms engaging both artistic and research-based practices. He has exhibited in Canada and Italy.
